    EkinSis Disk Protector

  • EkinSis Disk Protector is a computer security software which protects your computer hard disk(s) using three different protection methods.

  • The program protects your files and folders at kernel level. Security method is not based on system related NTFS drives permissions.

  • Since hard disks, on which operating system files located, can be protected with 'Read-only (R)' mode, unauthorized users can not write to disks. Only system files can write to disks.

  • You can prevent running exe files on your computer protecting them with 'Lock (L)' mode.

  • Once files or folders are protected, they can not be accessed even in DOS command prompt.

  • Protection prevails on computers started on Windows safe mode, unauthorized users can not access protected files and folders.

  • Nobody can access to your data intentionally or accidentally.

  • Since the program is password protected, unauthorized users can not access the program.

  • You need not running the program continuously. After you complete your operations, you can safely exit the program.

  • The protection of your files and folders continues even though the program does not run.

  • Using the simple Windows Explorer type interface in the program, you can easily protect drives, folders and files on your computer by a simple drag and drop operation.

  • You can protect a file or a folder using Windows Explorer right click context menu. When you try to protect drives, folders and files using this method, program runs automatically and perform the operation.

  • You can only uninstall EkinSis Disk Protector from the program itself using the uninstall button.

  • Prevent copy, rename, write and delete operations on all disks

    Using this checkbox, you can prevent all copy, rename, write and delete operations on all hard disks. You have to be very careful while checking this option. After checking this option only system files can write to disks and can do their job. Since program installations, writing to files without informing users by installed softwares, changes can be done on disks are blocked, some softwares may not run properly.

  • Protection Methods

    There are three types of protection methods:

    Full Lock (F)
    When you protect with this option, drive, folder or file is visible to others but nobody can access to protected items.

    Lock (L)
    When you protect with this option, drive, folder or file is visible to others but nobody can access to protected items.

    Read only (R)
    When you protect with this option, drive, folder or file is visible to others and other users can access to protected items, but nobody can delete or rename it.
